This ambition is at the heart of our Learner Attributes: the skills and competencies we are looking to develop in young people as they take our OxfordAQA qualifications. To support teachers as they nurture these qualities in their students, we have designed our comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme to focus on these global, future-ready skills.

Jamie Kirkaldy, Head of Teaching and Learning Support, supports all schools delivering OxfordAQA qualifications. He was previously Head of English at an Oxford comprehensive school.
For each Learner Attribute, there is an equivalent CPD strand, meaning the student remains at the heart of all our teacher training. Each course will sit within one of those strands, helping you foster the Oxford International Programme Learner Attributes in every student, in every class.

Academic knowledge and skills are hugely important, but students can only learn when they have other fundamental skills in place. Our Prepare courses help you build key life skills into your teaching practice, including wellbeing and resilience, that are integral for unlocking student potential.
Empowered and independent students… EMPOWER training
As a teacher, you are critical role model for your students. Courses in our Empower strand not only help you equip your students with the higher–order critical–thinking skills needed in the future, but also the independence to use them in whatever context is required.
