What does Oxford International Programme offer you?
Oxford International Programme starts with the curriculum materials, continuous professional development, assessment, and world-class resources from the Oxford International Curriculum. This develops the critical and creative thinking skills needed for success in further study with OxfordAQA’s International GCSE, AS and A-level exams.
Through seven subjects, the Oxford International Curriculum offers your school a coherent and holistic approach with year-on-year progression:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Computing
- Wellbeing
- Global Skills Projects
- Sustainability
This spiral, supportive approach deepens students’ knowledge and ensures a smooth transition across every stage of their educational journey, equipping them with the skills to shape the future and achieve exam success.
Oxford International Programme enables students to succeed by recognising that lasting success is contingent on both academic performance and emotional and mental wellbeing. It has been designed to bring wellbeing into teaching and learning through all core subjects. This central idea of wellbeing is then echoed in OxfordAQA’s Fair Assessment approach and support for exam stress.
The holistic approach to wellbeing aims to foster a classroom environment where students develop healthier skills for coping and thriving in a new world. Find out more in the Oxford International Curriculum Wellbeing Curriculum Overview.
An intrinsic part of the Oxford International Curriculum, the Global Skills Projects and Sustainability curriculum combine project-based and interdisciplinary learning to develop thoughtful, innovative change-makers who are equipped with the skills to succeed in a challenging world.
The curriculum fosters a classroom environment where students develop the skills for success, including:
- Creativity and critical thinking
- Real-world skills
- Communication and collaboration
- Self-development skills
This prepares students for the project-based, analytical and independent style of learning in the International GCSE Plus and International Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), as well as for the future.

“We have seen real change in pupil self-confidence as the curriculum purposefully supports the development of curiosity, critical thinking, empathy building, good decision making, and self-determination.”
– Heathfield International School Vientiane, Laos
“With the world in a constant state of change, it is essential that schools not only provide a world class education for their students, but are also mindful of the wellbeing of their pupils. Through implementing the Oxford International Curriculum, our school has been enabled to become not just a place of learning, but a community that encourages a climate of support for the mental health and wellbeing of the young people in our care. Our students have certainly benefited from the Oxford International Curriculum and are being prepared for both their academic future and the wider world beyond.”
– International Community School Branch 4, United Arab Emirates
“The International Extended Project Qualification is so unique because it opens doors for students to focus on what they want to focus on. The cohort can choose between creating artefacts or doing a traditional report; students want to be more creative, and they now have the chance to start their journey of researching and creativity before university because of OxfordAQA.”
– Mayor International School, Jordan
